Experience
Sydney earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from High Point University and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University. Her background includes working with children and families through behavioral therapy, psychiatric rehabilitation programs, and care coordination services. She previously worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where she supported clients in developing emotional, behavioral, and social skills within home, school, and community settings.
Sydney values meeting clients where they are and believes that every individual’s healing process is unique. She is passionate about viewing mental health through a holistic lens, recognizing the importance of the mind-body connection and the impact that lifestyle, relationships, and emotional experiences can have on overall well-being. Her counseling style is warm, supportive, collaborative, and adaptable to each client’s needs.
Sydney incorporates knowledge and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness-Based approaches, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients build insight, emotional awareness, coping skills, and resilience.
